Cincinnati v St Francis Preview

Written by Scott on .

Tonight at 7 on ESPN3 at least, the Cincinnati Bearcats play the St Francis Red Flash. It's the last patsy the Bearcats play before they start Big East play. Since the game is on ESPN3, if you have it, I recommend doing whatever other fun things you have planned, and checking back a little later and watching the game then. No point in wasting your time with this one. Let the professionals, and this idiot, do that. I don't really have it in me to write a full write up. Ken Pom ranks 347 teams, St Francis ranks 324. His projection has UC with a 99.5% chance at winning. That's just about as close to 100% as the system will get. Plus, I still have Christmas shopping to do, so I'm doing to do a pretty bare bones preview.

St Francis ranks 319 in defense, but 316 in offense. They can't shoot, turn the ball over a ton, give up a lot of offensive rebounds, get their shots blocked a lot, and give up a lot of 3s, but opponents don't shoot free throws well against them, they offensive rebound averagely, and they get 13 assists a game. The Bearcats defense now is up to 21 in the Ken Pom rankings. That will probably go down after this one.

I can't really see a scenario where A) it's close, and B) where the starters play very many minutes. The Bearcats play on Tuesday, which isn't that quick a turn around, but after the heavy minutes they played against Miami, I expect a break. I also expect a dominating victory. Anything under 20 is unacceptable.
