Bearcats Drop OT Thriller to Louisville
I don't feel like doing a whole post on the Louisville 34-31 victory over Cincinnati, so I'll do 10 things that stand out to me after the game.
1) Damn that 4th quarter was a lot of fun
You had Teddy Bridgewater throwing gorgeous deep passes on a 93 yard drive to tie the score. DeVante Parker broke a catch for 64 yards when a 1 handed Deven Drane made a horrible attempt to try and tackle him. Then Cincinnati marches down the field in less than a minute. Munchie Legaux threw a beautiful pass to Damon Julian for the tying score. High drama, explosive plays, fun football.
2) Overtime sucked a big fat one
The run plays to open up OT weren't great. The 3rd down pass by Munchie Legaux had me, you, your dad, your mom, your grand pappy, your grand mammy, your cousin with the glass eye, your aunt with the mole, all yelling NOOOOOOOOOOOOO as it floated and floated and floated into the arms of Terrell Floyd. Just a back breaker.
3) Icing the kicker is really fucking stupid
I don't like dropping f bombs on the front page of the site, but this is deserved. Icing the kicker isn't proven to work. People do it all the time for some reason. Butch Jones did it tonight. The snap went right through Will Stein's hands. Cincinnati would have forced double overtime. But no. Next snap was perfect and John Wallace nailed a 30 yarder for the win.
4) Goodbye Keg of Nails
I'll miss you.

5) George Winn is a man
27 carries for 175 yards.
6) Teddy Bridgewater is really, really, really good
Bridgewater was something like 4-15 at one point. He finished 24-41, 416 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT. He picked the secondary to shreds. What you thought was going to happen with him, happened with him. UC couldn't score enough points when Bridgewater and the Cards weren't moving the ball. They paid for it dearly. He's going to be in the NFL in 2 years.
7) Cameron Cheatham and Drew Frey were not good
Cheatham was burned on a 50 yard pass to Damian Copeland. He was burned on a 30 yard TD to Parker. He was taken advantage of multiple times. Drew Frey was guilty of biting on numerous fakes. On the TD to Parker, he was late with help. He didn't have a good game.
8) Greg Blair is a tackling robot
I think he finished with around 20. He's not only taken over for JK Schaffer, he's playing an All Big East of season. I hope he's recognized because he's the best defensive player the team has. Great game by him. Also a great game for Maalik Bomar. His INT swung the game for a time. The linebackers are very good.
9) Munchie Legaux is going to hear a lot about his play this week
Not only for his comments, but once again he wasn't great. He was ok stat wise, 13-28, 157. But he threw 3 INTs to 1 TD. He's at 13-8 this year, 18-12 for his career. His throw at the end was absolutely horrible. The second INT he threw was across his body on the run right to a Card defender. He makes a lot of poor decisions. They are now directly costing Cincinnati football games. Not everything in the game was his fault, far from it. But throwing INTs in overtime is direct cause to you not scoring. He's completing 47% of his passes against FBS teams. It's not good enough. Even whiny bitch Nick Lachey complained about it:
10) Butch Jones shrug
